Terms of use

These terms cover the Trailbuddy website and the Trailbuddy iOS app. By using either you agree to them. They are written to be read, not to hide anything.

What Trailbuddy is

Trailbuddy is a trail running progress tracker. It records and analyses your own sessions and, if you choose, shares them with people you follow. It is a training tool. It is not medical advice, coaching certification, or a safety device. You are responsible for training within your own limits and for your safety on the trail.

Your account

You need to be at least 16 to create an account. Keep your sign-in to yourself and tell us if you think someone else is using it. You can delete your account and its data from inside the app at any time; deletion is permanent.

What you post

Workouts, comments, photos and profile details you share are yours. You give us the permission we need to store and show them to the people you have chosen to share them with, and nothing more. We do not sell your content or use it for advertising.

Do not post content that is abusive, harassing, threatening, hateful, sexually explicit, violent, illegal, or that reveals someone else's private information. Do not impersonate other people. We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users.

Every piece of shared content can be reported from inside the app, and every user can be blocked. We review reports within 24 hours, remove content that breaks these rules, and suspend or remove the accounts responsible. Blocking someone hides their content from you and yours from them.

Acceptable use

Do not try to break the service, scrape other people's data, reverse engineer the app, or use it for anything unlawful. Do not upload files that are not your own recordings or that contain malware.

Availability and changes

Trailbuddy is in beta. Features change, and the service may be unavailable at times. We may change these terms; if we do, the date at the top changes and material changes are announced in the app. Continuing to use Trailbuddy after a change means you accept it.

No warranty and limits of liability

The service is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of it, including lost data, missed training, or injury. Nothing here limits rights that consumer law gives you and that cannot be waived.
